Dalit Warshaw and Jessica Meyer: Intimate Voices

Spectrum
121 Ludlow St (2nd Floor) New York, NY 10002
tickets / more info

Two acclaimed composer-performers take the stage at Spectrum NYC to present an evening of music old and new that explores deep, interpersonal experiences. Using a unique combination of sounds that include viola, piano, countertenor, and theremin, works by Brahms and Debussy are reimagined alongside Burke's Cradle Song, Meyer's Seasons of Basho, and the world premiere of Warshaw's Ballade, to express private moments between woman and herself, mother and child, and lover to lover.

The Pipeline Collective was founded on the concept that when musicians perform their own music, sounds flow through them more easily, making them better performers. Likewise, when composers perform more often, they evolve into better writers. These concerts are meant to give a voice to those developing their craft as creators – regardless of genre or given labels. Composers like Beethoven never referred to their music as "classical" or by some other term - it was just "my music". This is our music, and it belongs to everyone regardless of age, background or profession.
