The Cornelia Street Café
29 Cornelia St.
Admission: $10 cover + $10 minimum
From her "intriguingly vivid" CD of works for viola and loop pedal Sounds of Being, Jessica Meyer evokes a vibrant and visceral energy - turning her viola into "a one-woman orchestra" of emotion to embody a different state of being for each piece: joy, anxiety, anger, bliss, torment, loneliness and passion. Opening set is composer and bassist Florent Ghys, who "writes pieces that blend elements of minimalism, pop music and a dose of extravagant wit."
